HISC is an open sea venue and takes the safety of competitors taking part in Championships very seriously.

HISC has possibly one of the largest safety boat resources of any sailing club in the World and will be providing the highest competitor to safety boat ratio seen at any recent Moth Worlds.  During the Championship, HISC will employ a Safety Officer who will work with the PRO to look after the safety of competitors taking part in the Worlds. When necessary, safety briefings will be given so that competitors have all the information they require about conditions on the race course.

Rescue Cover before the Event

It is our intention to provide limited rescue cover before the event. More details on this will be announced here in due course.

  2. I will have a 5.4 m RIB for both the Nationals and Worlds. I will be out each day primarily to provide support for the US teams. I will also volunteer my time and boat to assist the safety officer and R/C as needed. I have R/C experience as on the water volunteer at major regattas in both Europe and the USA. Please let me know how I can help.

    With kindest regards,

    John Downing
